Disneyland park-goers upset following rise in prices

Disneyland park-goers are upset over a new round of price increases including the introduction of an annual pass that costs US$1,049. Disney eliminated many of its current annual pass options for both the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim and the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, replacing them with new passes, making more difficult for some to enter the ‘happiest place on Earth’.

The new $1,049 Disney Signature Plus Passport replaces the $779 Premium Annual Passport.

Now there are three Disney passports:

Disney Signature Plus Passport – Prices from US$1,049

Admission to the parks every day of the year

Visit both theme parks on the same day

Includes Disney PhotoPass downloads

Up to 15% off select dining

Up to 20% off select merchandise

Theme park parking

Disney Signature Passport – Prices from US$849

Visit both theme parks on the same day most days of the year

Includes Disney PhotoPass downloads

Up to 15% off select dining

Up to 20% off select merchandise

Theme park parking

Blockout dates apply (including Dec. holidays and other peak days)

Disney Deluxe Passport – Prices from US$599

Visit both theme parks on the same day most days of the year

Up to 10% off select dining

Up to 10% off select merchandise

Blockout dates apply (including Dec. holidays and other peak days)

Some parkgoers are complaining that the increase comes as Disneyland gets ready to shut down a number of popular attractions for an extended period, including the Disneyland Railroad and Tom Sawyer Island, due to construction of the new “Star Wars” land.
