Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) is gearing up for a groundbreaking presentation at the prestigious IBTM World expo in Barcelona, Spain, scheduled from November 28-30, 2023.
Joining forces with a formidable team of 15 industry trailblazers—including state bureaus, premier hotels, seasoned tour operators, and state-of-the-art convention centers—Team Malaysia is ready to showcase the country’s latest advancements, outstanding capabilities, and the vibrant energy that makes Malaysia a unique destination on the global stage.
Mr. Zain Azrai Rashid, the esteemed Acting Chief Executive Officer of MyCEB, underscored the importance of IBTM World as a crucial platform for Malaysia to foster connections with both the European and international markets. “IBTM World has consistently proven itself to be an indispensable platform for us, offering unparalleled access to European and global markets. We are thrilled to be a part of this grand event once again and look forward to meaningful interactions with prominent leaders in the global industry,” he stated.
MyCEB is poised to leverage IBTM World as the international launch pad for its innovative MyTripleE campaign, a segment of the broader Meet in Malaysia initiative. The MyTripleE campaign is meticulously crafted to extend support and benefits to international industry stakeholders, aligning with the incentives already available to domestic players.
Mr. Zain further highlighted the remarkable trajectory of growth within Malaysia’s business events sector, evidenced by a robust number of bid wins, an influx of delegates, and a substantial economic contribution to the nation. “The year 2023 has been exceptional, with a record-breaking 285 business events slated to take place, drawing in approximately 904,000 delegates and generating a staggering RM4.4 billion in estimated economic impact. This serves as a testament to Malaysia’s growing influence and strength in the global business events arena,” he elaborated.
Throughout their participation at IBTM World, MyCEB and the Malaysian delegation are set to unveil an array of new products, services, and developments that further enhance Malaysia’s appeal to the global business events community. The primary objective is to captivate event planners and organizers, encouraging them to select Malaysia as their preferred destination for meetings, corporate gatherings, incentive groups, conferences, and exhibitions, thereby solidifying Malaysia’s position as a top-tier player in the international MICE industry.
