The Residences, a boutique accommodation project has opened in eastern Sydney's Centennial Park.
The owners of the nearby Hughenden Hotel have renovated the 19th-century ranger's residence and superintendent's residence to provide the park's first hotel.
Hughenden executive director James Ruben said: "It wasn't pretty when we got in here, but what we've been able to achieve is really something special. This is a new way for people to experience the park, one which they have never had before."
Both premises had been empty since since 2001. Wedding parties are now expected to make up the bulk of bookings at the venue.
Centennial Park covers 189 hectares in the east of Sydney. In 1851, it hosted a duel between the first premier of New South Wales, Stuart Donaldson, and the surveyor-general, Thomas Mitchell. Both men survived.
