AC Hotels by Marriott opens first hotel in Costa Rica

AC Hotels by Marriott, a design-led European lifestyle hotel brand from Marriott International, recently announced the opening of the AC Hotel San Jose Escazú. The 126-room property is located in the exclusive neighborhood of Avenida Escazú.

Following its success in Europe, a joint venture was formed with Marriott International in 2011, which has since launched AC Hotels by Marriott globally in France, Denmark, the United States, Mexico, Panama, Colombia and now Costa Rica. The new AC Hotel San Jose Escazú is the fourth AC Hotel by Marriott in Central America.

The AC Hotel San Jose Escazú is seven stories high and has 122 rooms, four suites, and five meeting rooms for a total of 2,143 square feet meeting space for events in the cosmopolitan Avenida Escazú. Its restaurant AC Kitchen serves European inspired dishes, while the lobby and trendy AC Lounge have a chic, open and comfortable ambiance, ideal for socializing. The hotel also offers a Fitness Center, free Wi-Fi and a pet friendly policy.

Based on the idea that purposeful design improves lives, AC Hotels by Marriott carves away what is unnecessary, in order to provide guests with thoughtfully designed moments of beauty; experiences that elevate their stay and help them focus on what is important to them. The result is sophisticated yet unpretentious style, innovative food and beverage programming with locally inspired experiences for both guests and locals.

“We are delighted to bring the AC brand to Costa Rica, especially to such a vibrant area like Avenida Escazú that is full of urban culture. The style, design, and attention to detail makes this hotel ideal for millennial travelers who are looking to explore what San José has to offer,” said Ismael Morales, General Manager of the AC Hotel San Jose Escazú.

San José, one of the most vibrant capitals in Central America, continues to develop the tourism industry and attract travelers from across the globe. Earlier in the year, San José celebrated the opening of its new Convention Center and new air routes from international destinations have made the city more accessible. Costa Rica is known around the world for its incredibly rich nature, with its national parks and conservation areas that cover over 25% of the country.
