Deutsche Hospitality expands its presence in Hamburg with the opening of its fourth IntercityHotel on June 2, 2020.
The IntercityHotel Hamburg-Barmbek became the fourth IntercityHotel. The hotel is a new build offering 221 guest rooms and studios with modern furnishings and fittings, five conference rooms able to accommodate up to 170 people and a restaurant. It will operate in the upper midscale segment. The owners and contractual partners are the Hamburg-based B&L Group, with which Deutsche Hospitality has already successfully executed projects in a number of German cities, and the real estate company Development Partner from Düsseldorf.
“We are very much looking forward to establishing an immediate new presence for our innovative brand in the popular Hamburg district of Barmbek,” stated Joachim Marusczyk, founding Managing Director of IntercityHotel GmbH. “We will be adding a further attractive and strategically significant German location to our portfolio.” The site of the hotel provides good transport links with Hamburg-Barmbek Railway Station, the airport and public transport, meaning that the centre of Hamburg and the city’s major sights are within easy reach.
“The new IntercityHotel Hamburg-Barmbek will have numerous highlights for our guests to enjoy in future,” added General Manager Markus Gorges. These include a Sky Sportsbar, a Bistro Box, direct access from the hotel to a neighbouring shopping mall, a gym and an underground car park. “We have made thorough preparations for the opening by putting comprehensive hygiene measures in place and are delighted that we will now be able to welcome the first guests to our brand new hotel. The IntercityHotel App facilitates straightforward and contactless check-in and check-out and also creates a digital room key.”
More than 40 IntercityHotels can be found at major transport hubs both in Germany and at international destinations. IntercityHotel is an innovative Deutsche Hospitality brand which offers modern conference facilities and accommodation. Digital services are available via a special IntercityHotel App. Guests also benefit from the FreeCityTicket scheme. This is included in the cost of every overnight stay and permits use of the local public transport system free of charge. Interior design of all new and newly renovated hotels is by the Italian architect Matteo Thun.
