AC Hotel Opens in Downtown Orlando

AC Hotel Opens in Downtown Orlando

The design-driven AC Hotel Orlando Downtown, slated to open January 12, 2021, will usher in a new level of urban sophistication as the area’s first lifestyle hotel.

This contemporary property managed by Kolter Hospitality is set to offer a true high-rise experience in the heart of the city.

Towering above Garland Avenue and spread across eight floors of Orlando’s SunTrust Plaza Building, the 180-room hotel will feature a European aesthetic inspired by AC Hotels’ signature design philosophy.

The thoughtful interiors, curated for both business and leisure guests, will include a refined neutral beige color palette, underscored with darker tones and granite accents. The purposeful design incorporates clean lines, sleek furnishings, hardwood floors, ambient lighting, open closet systems and unique artwork that reflects the character of its cosmopolitan location.

The spacious rooms are also equipped with a slew of modern gadgets including smart ambiance controls that adjust the temperature and lighting, HDTVs with Netflix and Hulu streaming, and several USB ports.

Motivated by consumers’ growing desire for experiential travel, the property’s collaborative spaces are fueled by its global beverage & food (B&F) program. Framed by floor-to-ceiling windows, the lobby includes contemporary artwork while the adjoining AC Kitchen offers a European-inspired culinary concept. Guests can jumpstart their day with signature butter croissants imported from France, freshly sliced prosciutto, and savory egg tarts along with seasonal fruits and granola parfaits.

Against the backdrop of boundless city views, guests at the hotel’s SkyBar Rooftop Terrace can enjoy Spanish-inspired tapas and bites, artisanal cocktails and local craft brews from its 18th floor perch. As one of only a few rooftop spaces in downtown Orlando — an area celebrated for its authentic soul, live events, 19th century architecture and under-the-radar charm – SkyBar is primed to stand out in “The City Beautiful.” Additionally, the bar’s flexible layout and adjacent green space can be re-arranged for corporate events and intimate, socially distanced weddings.

AC Hotel Orlando Downtown also features three indoor meeting rooms totaling more than 2,000 square feet with the latest audio/visual tech and seven configurations ideal for executive gatherings, business trainings, and social events. Rounding out the amenities are the AC Store with a selection of on-the-go snacks and an on-property fitness center with cardio equipment and free weights. For local sips and bites, guests have access to Foxtail Coffee Café, Bumby Arcade Food Hall and a ‘Grand Central Station’ style SunRail Station with routes close to Orlando’s best culinary gems.

Perfectly situated on the southwestern corner of downtown Orlando, the property is less than half a mile from both Exploria Stadium, home of the Orlando City Soccer Club, and the Amway Center, a larger-than-life concert venue and home base for the Orlando Magic basketball team. Also in convenient proximity is the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts and Camping World Stadium, hosts to events like Front Yard Festival and the Citrus Bowl, respectively. This Central Florida newcomer is also just 20 minutes from the trendy neighborhood of Winter Park, Orlando International Airport (MCO) and The University of Central Florida, the second largest university in the nation, consistently ranked as one of the most innovative schools by U.S. News & World Report. While the magic of Disney and Universal Studios are within reach, astute travelers seek out downtown Orlando for its understated appeal. Coupled with more than a dozen natural springs all within an hour’s drive, AC Hotel Orlando Downtown is the perfect jumping off point from which to explore.

“As the first AC brand hotel in Orlando, our team is eager to deliver an experience that combines the thoughtful design and inviting atmosphere synonymous with AC Hotels with a warm, distinctly Floridian flair,” said General manager, Bobby Copeland.

“My hope is that the introduction of the AC Hotel Orlando Downtown paired with innovative, locally influenced programming will carve out a unique niche in a city with undeniable energy.”

To celebrate its winter opening, the property is offering a $25 nightly B&F credit to use at SkyBar or AC Kitchen.
