IntercityHotel Karlsruhe

IntercityHotel is Coming to Karlsruhe in 2023

Deutsche Hospitality is launching a new project in its Upper Midscale Segment. The four-star IntercityHotel Karlsruhe will take shape right next to the city’s main railway station and will form part of a new and high-end complex to be known as KA DREI.

The collection of buildings on the site will also include two office blocks with retail space, an underground car park and a café. The hotel itself is scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2023 and will offer 194 rooms, a restaurant and a bar, all designed by the Italian architect and designer Matteo Thun. It will also house an events facility extending over an area of 233 square metres and four conference rooms.

Qcoon Real Estate GmbH and FORTOON Development GmbH, both of which are Hamburg-based companies, will share responsibility for project development and construction management of the building complex KA DREI.

“We are delighted to be adding a further hotel to our presence in Baden-Württemberg,” said Christian Kaschner, Managing Director of IntercityHotel GmbH.

“Karlsruhe is home to the Federal Court of Justice and is also Germany’s first UNESCO City of Media Arts. It is an important destination for business travellers, creative artists, and cultural professionals. Sights include the Centre for Art and Media, Karlsruhe Palace, the old quarter of the district of Durlach and many more attractions besides. The city has a wealth of cultural highlights for leisure visitors to enjoy. Our network is growing, and we have a large number of exciting hotel projects in the pipeline at the moment. We are collaborating very successfully with Qcoon Real Estate GmbH on the realisation of the IntercityHotel Karlsruhe.”

Marco Daedelow, Managing Director of Qcoon Real Estate GmbH, added: “The KA DREI office and hotel complex is the largest construction project in Karlsruhe presently. We are very pleased to have found a strong partner in IntercityHotel, with whom we have concluded a long-term lease.”

Both the Karlsruhe Trade Fair Centre and Congress Centre will be easily accessible on foot from the hotel. Guests wishing to visit the city’s old quarter will find it most convenient to take public transport, which they will be able to use free of charge throughout their stay thanks to IntercityHotel’s FreeCityTicket scheme.
