Barceló Bags 3 New Michelin Stars

Spanish hospitality chain Barceló Hotel Group is proud to have been awarded 3 new Michelin stars, adding to the 2 stars they already had at Spain and Portugal’s 2023 Michelin Guide Gala.

These stars bring great prestige to Barceló Hotel Group, becoming the company with the highest number of Michelin stars in the Canary Islands, as well as bringing the first Michelin Star to the province of Granada at Royal Hideaway La Bobadilla. This extraordinary achievement marks Barceló Hotel Group’s commitment to gastronomy and solidifies the Canary Islands as a culinary destination producing top quality food and chefs: all the award-winning chefs are of Canary Island origin.

At Royal Hideaway Corales Resort, Tenerife, restaurant El Rincón de Juan Carlos – run by brothers Juan Carlos and Jonathan Padrón who are from Tenerife – received its second Michelin star.

San Hô, the Peruvian-Japanese fusion restaurant, received its first star, recognising the work of young chefs Adrián Bosch and Eduardo Domínguez, also originally from the island, who have put a unique local twist on the Nikkei cuisine. Now Royal Hideaway Corales Resort in Tenerife has a total of 3 Michelin stars, cementing the hotel’s status as one of the best gastronomic hotels in Spain.

La Finca, the restaurant of La Bobadilla, a Royal Hideaway hotel, has also been awarded its first Michelin star – a momentous occasion, marking the first star for the province of Granada, in Andalucia.

Emblematic Santa Catalina, a Royal Hideaway hotel in Gran Canaria, has retained its Michelin star at Poemas, the restaurant led by the Padrón Brothers. This star was achieved last year and marked the first in the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

These latest achievements total 5 Michelin stars across the Barceló Hotel Group, with 4 awarded to restaurants in the Canary Islands – the highest number of Michelin Stars in the region.
