This Hotel is Tel Aviv's First Hotel to Ban Single-Use Plastic

The Vera Hotel

Tel Aviv's The Vera has made a significant stride towards environmentally friendly hospitality by becoming the city's first boutique hotel to eliminate single-use plastics.

This move aligns with its already robust sustainability initiatives, which have been in place since the hotel first opened its doors in 2018.

Located in the cultural core of Tel Aviv, The Vera isn't just renowned for its unique commitment to local design and creativity, but it's also gaining recognition for its leading efforts in environmental sustainability. The 39-key hotel has replaced disposable toiletries with recyclable dispensers, installed water-filter systems in each room to reduce the use of single-use plastic bottles, and opted for biodegradable coffee cups and lids.

Moreover, The Vera has displayed a conscious effort to curb CO2 emissions by sourcing local, organic bath products, further supporting the local economy.

In a comment on this forward-thinking initiative, Danny Tamari, CEO and Founder of The Vera, stated, "The elimination of single-use plastics is an obvious decision and a forward step for the hotel industry. We continually strive to build an environmentally-conscious society, and The Vera’s action reflects our vision of what a modern hospitality experience should be."

But sustainability at The Vera doesn't stop there. The hotel also implements energy efficiency and eco-insulation measures, including the use of one of the world's most energy-efficient insulation systems, the LG VRF System 4th generation.

Despite its strong focus on sustainability, The Vera hasn't compromised on luxury and comfort. The boutique hotel, with its oak-wooden parquet floors and stylish furniture, offers an intimate spa, two-level rooftop sundeck, hyper-local concierge, and personalized services. This makes it a perfect destination for business and leisure travelers seeking a sophisticated and eco-conscious stay in the Mediterranean metropolis.
