Bermuda's Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa Introduces New Culinary Weekend Getaway

The culinary workshop is a new addition to this AAA Four-Diamond resorts’ longstanding series of wellness retreats, designed for travelers seeking enriching and rejuvenating travel experiences. The hands-on program is a perfect way for travelers of all kinds – including budding home chefs, newlyweds, mothers and daughters, and girlfriends – to enjoy a relaxing Bermuda retreat, while gaining culinary expertise and knowledge about quick and nutritional solutions for everyday dining.

Held November 5-8, 2009, Cambridge Beaches culinary weekend away will be hosted by Chef Laurie Erickson, leading health and wellness consultant and author of the newly released CHEF by STEP® cookbook. Chef Laurie will share her expertise in preparing simple and nutritious meals, creating a healthier lifestyle and improving overall wellness. The culinary class offers everyone, from beginning cooks to culinary aficionados, a realistic approach to cooking easy, complete and delicious meals that are good for you – covering everything from shopping smarter to chopping faster.

The Cooking Well Weekend Package is available as an add-on to accommodations at $229 per person and includes cooking classes with Chef Laurie, wine tasting, welcome reception, 50-minute massage, 20 percent off on all additional spa treatments and special exercise classes, such as Pilates and yoga. A minimum three-night stay is required. Nightly rates start at $385 and include daily breakfast. As a part of the package, additional nights can be booked at 50 percent off the standard room rate.

As a health and wellness consultant to resorts and corporations across the globe, Chef Laurie provides professional culinary education with classes on nutrition and lifestyle, personalized menu design and food shopping consultations. Chef Laurie has served on the culinary teams of famed resorts and spas and has been a mentor and instructor to culinary students attending the Culinary Institute of America, Johnson and Wales University, and the New England Culinary Academy.
