The new research points to some promising signs when it comes to the eco-considerations weighed by both travelers and accommodations.

dusit logoThailand-based Dusit Hotels & Resorts becomes the first hotel group in Thailand to accept WeChat Pay. WeChat Pay is part of China’s largest mobile instant messaging app, WeChat, which to date has over 800 million active users. It allows users to pay bills, order goods, transfer money to other users, and pay in selected stores directly via smartphone using credit from their personal WeChat Pay accounts.

In this perspective Hilton established a dedicated development office in Casablanca, where it announced its debut hotel earlier this year, Hilton Garden Inn Casablanca Sidi Maarouf.

Dubai-based The First Investor group, a subsidiary of Al Fardan Group, announced the purchase of the Carlton Downtown hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road. Formerly the Warwick Hotel, it is the third hotel to be operated by Carlton Hotel Management - a brand owned by The First Investor, and the ninth in the group’s collection of hotels.

Marriott logo light brownMarriott International announced its first property in Kenya with the opening of Four Points by Sheraton Nairobi Hurlingham. The hotel is strategically located in the upmarket suburb, close to the city center and within easy access from the surrounding business areas of Westlands, Kilimani and Nairobi Central as well as from the Kenyatta International Airport and the Wilson Airport.
