American Airlines will add new service to Merida, Mexico – a new destination for its global network – providing more service to the country than any other American carrier. Mérida is the vibrant capital of the Mexican state of Yucatán, which has a rich Mayan and colonial heritage.

New service will start on March 3, 2016 to Manuel Crescencio Rejon International Airport (MID) from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW).

“The addition of Merida gives our customers 21 destinations in Mexico, and we’ll now operate nearly 120 daily flights between our two countries,” said Art Torno, senior vice president – International and Cargo. “American was the first international airline to fly to Mexico in 1942 and we’ve been one of the leading international carriers in the country ever since.”
