Wizz Air Connects Tirana, Albania with Memmingen, Germany

Wizz Air, Europe's fastest growing airline announced a new route connecting Tirana, Albania with Memmingen, Germany.

Commencing on 1 September 2019, the newest WIZZ service will be operated with two weekly frequencies, on Wednesdays and Sundays. Seats on the route are already on sale and can be booked on wizzair.com or via the WIZZ mobile app from as low as EUR 19.99*, which includes a free carry-on bag allowance of up to 40x30x20cm.

Tirana, located only one hour from the Ionian Sea has been improving for decades regarding culture, economy and tourism. The city, which has been invaded by numerous empires through history has historic remains from the Ottoman Empire and the Roman Empire– therefore visitors can get a full picture of the European history in the Balkan throughout ages.

Memmingen in southern Germany is known for its picturesque old town with many courtyards, castles and palaces. Offering visitors a great number of interesting and unforgettable experiences – from environment friendly green areas to fascinating architectural gates and towers – Memmingen is an ideal getaway for those who would enjoy an active travel during a long weekend.

This new route is the second direct Wizz Air connection between Albania and Germany – as the Tirana-Dortmund route started operating in October 2018, providing affordable access for all types of travellers across Europe.

Wizz Air now offers a total of 4 low-fare routes to 3 countries from Tirana International Airport Nene Tereza and 18 destinations in 11 countries are directly available from Memmingen, providing affordable access for all types of travellers across Europe.

Wizz Air’s first Tirana flight took off in 2017 and since then, the airline has carried more than 135,000 passengers on its low fare routes to and from Albania. Throughout the country, Wizz Air’s operations this year will support more than 100 jobs** in associated industries.
