Japanese chef Yoshihiro Takahashi

Three Michelin-Starred Chef to Cook for ANA Passengers

All Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan’s largest and 5-Star airline for eight consecutive years will expand upon its prestigious THE CONNOISSEURS culinary program by adding the traditional Japanese cuisine of Yoshihiro Takahashi to North America and Europe -bound flights from September to November 2021.

Takahashi joins a list of elite chefs who have been selected to participate in THE CONNOISSEURS program since its inception in 2013.

“Maximizing the passenger experience and comfort have always been an integral part of our approach to offering unrivaled service,” said Hideki Kunugi, Executive Vice President of ANA.

“THE CONNOISSEURS is an example of how we apply these values in all areas of operation and constantly strive to improve the in-flight experience.

Since its launch THE CONNOISSEURS program has been highly praised by passengers and culinary enthusiasts both in Japan and internationally. By adding Takahashi to our list of participating chefs, passengers will be able to enjoy a truly distinct and authentic dining experience.”

Takahashi is the owner-chef at the Kyoto restaurant Hyotei and received three Michelin stars in the Michelin guide for 12 consecutive years including 2020.

The history of Hyotei dates back over 400 years, and Takahashi represents the 15th generation to run the restaurant.

Throughout its history, Hyotei – which is based within the grounds of the Nanzenji temple in Kyoto – has preserved its tradition of culinary excellence and legacy while continuing to evolve and adapt to contemporary styles and changes in both cuisine and culture.

Hyotei’s cuisine will be available to First Class Passengers on flights departing Japan bound for North America and Europe from September to November 2021. Additional information and menu details will be available online beginning in August 2021.
