Avelo Airlines Expands Florida Routes

Avelo Airlines is expanding service from Wilmington, NC, to two new nonstop Florida destinations — West Palm Beach and Tampa.

Avelo will be the only airline offering nonstop flights between Wilmington International Airport (ILM) and these two cities, bringing more affordable, convenient and reliable air service to Wilmington and the Carolina beaches. Avelo is also adding more flights to Orlando, just in time for summer travel.

Avelo will begin exclusive service to Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) on June 22 and to Tampa International Airport (TPA) on June 23. Both routes will be operated by Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft. Introductory one-way fares start at $29*. Customers can make reservations at AveloAir.com.

Service to Orlando International Airport (MCO) will also be increasing for summer travel beginning June 22. Avelo will be flying to Orlando four times-weekly on Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays and Mondays, doubling the original frequency.

Avelo Airlines Chairman and CEO Andrew Levy said, “Wilmington – we’re growing again! We’re seeing great support from the community and our flights are consistently filling up. With these two new routes to Palm Beach and Tampa, and added flights to Orlando, Coastal NC residents can continue saying hello to affordable, convenient and reliable air travel with Avelo.”

ILM Airport Director Jeff Bourk said, “We are thrilled Avelo keeps growing in our market, providing more affordable flights for our community. Avelo now flies nonstop to six destinations up and down the east coast. It’s amazing to think that just a year ago we had no service to Florida and now, with these new flights to Tampa and West Palm Beach – along with Orlando and Fort Lauderdale, we have four convenient flights to Florida. Thank you to the team at Avelo for continuing to invest in ILM and the southeastern North Carolina community.”

With the addition of these two new destinations, Avelo will now serve six nonstop destinations from ILM. Palm Beach and Tampa join Southern Connecticut’s most convenient airport — Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN), Washington, D.C. / Baltimore, Maryland (BWI) and two Florida destinations: Orlando and Fort Lauderdale.”
