The LaLit London (Opened: January 2017)

The 70-bedroom LaLiT London hotel set within the Grade II-listed former St Olave’s Grammar School near Tower Bridge, is opened in January 2017 after a five-year restoration. The hotel is opened by India’s fastest growing, privately owned hospitality group – Lalit Suri Hospitality Group. It’s the group’s first hotel in the UK.

It’s a stone’s throw from the City and perfectly located for easy access to some of London’s best food markets, along with a host of newly opened eateries including Bala Baya, Padella, and Caravan Bankside. Borough Market is a 13-minute walk away, while the Tower of London is 500 m from the property. Southwark is a great choice for travelers interested in tourist attractions, city walks and city trips.

The nearest airport is London City Airport, 5.6 mi from The LaLit London.

The Ned

The Ned (Opened: April 2017)

Set in the former Midland Bank building in the heart of the City, The Ned was designed by Sir Edwin ‘Ned’ Lutyens in 1924. The heritage building hosts nine restaurants, 252 bedrooms channeling 1920s and 1930s design, a range of men’s and women’s grooming services and a members’ club.

The former Grand Banking Hall is host to eight restaurants which serve a wide range of cuisines, from Britain to Northern Italy, North America to Asia. Six private hire rooms and two terraces are at guests’ disposal and are among the building’s most elegant spaces. They all benefit from natural light, period features and have a dedicated reception area. Guests can enjoy Ned’s Club Relax with a 21 m indoor pool, a sauna, steam room and Moroccan hammam, along with Ned’s Club Active’s 620 square yard gym, three exercise studios and boxing gym.

The property is within a short walk from St. Paul’s Cathedral and within 15 minutes from Oxford Street and the West End, by tube. Bank Station also offers a direct DLR connection to London City Airport, which can be reached in 30 minutes.

Victory House, MGallery by Sofitel, London Leicester Square (Opened: July 2017)

AccorHotels has opened its new MGallery by Sofitel Leicester Square in London. The 86-bedroom hotel consists of three one-bed suites, six signature suites, 13 deluxe bedrooms, 58 standard bedrooms and a total of six accessible bedrooms, and is operated by Bespoke Hotels.

Victory House boasts 86 art deco inspired rooms and suites, many of which afford unrivaled, front row views to London’s exclusive premieres. Bringing the glitz and glam of Hollywood to your window. Marriott International opens Residence Inn London – London Bridge, marking a debut in the capital for the company’s industry-leading extended-stay brand. Located on Long Lane in Southwark, Residence Inn London – London Bridge offers 87 well-appointed studio, one- and two-bedroom suites with separate living, working and sleeping areas, as well as fully equipped kitchens, including refrigerator, microwave, hob, oven, dishwasher, and cookware.

Guests looking for a home-from-home experience during longer stays are catered to with upscale design and amenities such as complimentary hot breakfasts, communal laundry facilities, free Wi-Fi, and a 24/7 Grab ’n Go Market in the lobby.

Kettner’s Townhouse (Opened: January 2018)

Kettner’s Townhouse is a 33-bedroom hotel, restaurant, and champagne bar in a historic Georgian building in London’s Soho. A London society haunt since 1867, Kettner’s reopened in early 2018 after a two-year closure.

New Road Hotel, Whitechapel (Opened: April 2018)

New Road is a stylish 79 bedroom boutique hotel in East London. Housed in a former textile factory in Whitechapel, this unique hotel has been inspired by the New York metropolis. New Road Hotel features a signature restaurant by acclaimed chef Marco Pierre White, a fitness studio and several social zones where guests can enjoy live music, play pool in the games zone or relax in the library.

L’oscar London (Opened: May 2018)

Famed French architect Jacques Garcia has transformed a 110-year-old Baptist church into the opulent 39-room L’oscar hotel. Located in the heart of Bloomsbury’s historic Holborn, L’oscar London is a small hotel located within 500 m of British Museum and 601 m of Theater Royal Drury Lane.

Royal Opera House is 601 m from the accommodations, while Lyceum Theater is 701 m away. The nearest airport is London City Airport, 7.5 mi from the property.

Assembly London Hotel (Opened: July 2018)

Assembly, a new hotel brand, opened on Charing Cross Road in London. The hotel is aimed to attract and motivate travelers to make the most out of their trip. The 121-bedroom hotel is an “urban hotel that lives by a ‘Get Up and Go’ mantra, designed to connect guests to the heart of the city”.

Designed by Scott Brownrigg, each bedroom is inspired by the works of London fashion designers, including Stella McCartney, Gareth Pugh and Alexander McQueen, all of whom studied at Central Saint Martins. Each room also features a giant toy rabbit.

Room categories include snug for individuals; nest, featuring double beds; pad; and the most spacious, den.

Assembly does not include mini bars, luxury robes or televisions. Instead, it has opted for providing hotel rooms with high-quality beds, showers, sound-proofed walls, and high-speed wifi.

Rockwell East (Opened: September 2018)

Rockwell East, a new 57-apartment aparthotel and all-day dining café, owned by London-based property developers Marldon, is located on the fringes of the City and a short walk from the Tower of London.

Apartments at Rockwell East are spacious and have all the features of a design-led modern home, coupled with a level of service found in a high-end hotel. Accommodation at Rockwell East ranges from studio apartments to one-bedroom and family apartments.

The East London Hotel (Opened: October 2018)

The East London hotel, an urban hotel for business and leisure travelers, has opened in Bethnal Green. With special opening rates business and leisure travelers alike can take advantage of the hip hangout’s premium East London location.

Autograph Collection Hotels, part of Marriott International, has opened Bankside, a new design-forward hotel on the south bank of the River Thames.  Situated in the heart of one of London’s most dynamic neighbourhoods, just a stone’s throw away from Tate Modern, British Film Institute and Borough Market, the 161-room boutique hotel joins the diverse and dynamic portfolio of more than 150 Autograph Collection Hotels around the world that are independent, one-of-a-kind and champion values of vision, design and craft.

Featuring a fitness center, the hotel is close to several noted attractions, around 0.7 mi from Somerset House, a 14-minute walk from London Bridge and 0.7 mi from Lyceum Theater. Free WiFi is available and Savoy Theater is a 15-minute walk away.

Kimpton Fitzroy London

Kimpton Fitzroy London (Opened: October 2018)

Kimpton® Hotels & Restaurants announced the opening of Kimpton® Fitzroy London, the first UK hotel from the boutique luxury brand in London’s Bloomsbury neighborhood. The hotel combines late-Victorian heritage with a quirky, modern vibe. Set on Russell Square within an iconic Grade II listed heritage building dating back to 1898, design-led Kimpton Fitzroy London features 334 luxurious rooms and suites, a large ballroom, various restaurants and bars, modern meeting rooms and a 24-hour fitness center.

Kimpton Fitzroy London offers Kimpton’s much-loved signature touches including in-room yoga mats, complimentary bikes to explore the city, tea and coffee to fuel up for the day, and welcomes pets to stay for free. In true Kimpton style, perks take on a local slant and the hotel will host a complimentary champagne hour – a daily social gathering for hotel guests.

Residence Inn By Marriott London Kensington

Residence Inn by Marriott London Kensington (Opened: July 2018)

Residence Inn by Marriott London Kensington is now officially open as the largest property in the extended-stay brand’s European portfolio. In a prime position on Warwick Road in Earls Court, the hotel features 319 suites, of which several boast private terraces with impressive views across the capital. Guests can also take in the London skyline from the hotel’s eighth floor terrace, which will also be available to hire as an events space.

The Kensington Olympia Exhibition Centre is just a 10-minute walk away, while cultural attractions such as the Victoria and Albert Museum, Science Museum, Royal Albert Hall, and the Natural History museum are less than one mile away. Guests also have access to fantastic transport links across London and to Heathrow Airport.

Crowne Plaza London – Albert Embankment is the first luxury hotel to open in the Albert Embankment area. This is central London’s latest area of regeneration, including the new home of the US Embassy and a whirlwind of high-profile residential developments, from Battersea Power Station to Embassy Gardens. Built in 1887 in the Queen Anne style, the Sloane Street property was once home to British-American socialite Lillie Langtry, and was also the location for the arrest of playwright Oscar Wilde in 1895. Today, operating as the Belmond Cadogan Hotel in exclusive Knightsbridge has 54 exquisitely designed rooms in the heart of one of the most fashionable districts in London.

The Cadogan provides a chic bar and an elegant lounge where guests can choose from the extensive bar and lounge menu featuring Great British classics. The hotel exits onto Sloane Street, which is full of designer shops. Harvey Nichols and Harrods are just a 5-minute walk away. The Knightsbridge Underground Station is a 5-minutes walk away, and Hyde Park is a 10-minute walk. The new Great Scotland Yard is known for its rich history, providing guests the opportunity to stay in the location where police pursued some of the country’s most notorious criminals, including Jack the Ripper. The distinct historical character of the building will be preserved throughout the renovation, including maintenance of its original façade. Upon completion, this historic building will be a luxury 153-room hotel with sophisticated food and beverage offerings.

Vintry & Mercer (Opening February 2019)

Vintry & Mercer is nestled at the heart of the City, among the livery halls, guilds and narrow streets that line the banks of the Thames. Vintry was the center for London wine merchants; Mercer was for noble textile sellers who specialized in fine silks and damasks. In the narrow streets near the hotel, this history perseveres. Mama London (Opened in 2019)

Mama Shelter has announced its market entry into the United Kingdom with plans to open Mama Shelter Shoreditch in 2019. The 194-room property is a strategic conversion from The RE Hotel London Shoreditch. Mama London will be located in the industrial quarter in the heart of London, just steps away from the train at Cambridge Heath and the Bethnal Green subway.

More than just a place to stay the night, Mama London will also provide plenty of places to work and gather – for tourists and locals alike. This will include 2,600-square feet of meeting rooms and a 600-square foot lobby, as well as a 4,000-square foot restaurant complete with an inside patio and outside terrace. At the front entrance of the hotel, Mama’s Kiss will serve fresh pastries and hot coffee for those who need to get-up-and-go or prefer to linger around and take in the sights of the neighborhood.

Stratford Hotel London

Stratford at the Manhattan Loft Gardens (Opened in Spring 2019)

The Stratford Hotel, located within the new Manhattan Loft Gardens skyscraper, will occupy the first six stories of the building with 145 guestrooms and suites. The 42-storey Manhattan Loft Gardens is situated in the upcoming cultural hub of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Guestrooms offer floor to ceiling windows, stone-clad bathrooms with heated floors, and separate bathtubs. Hotel guests will also have access to live music, pop-up house parties and fitness events taking place throughout the building, including the three sky gardens carved into the tower at the seventh, 25th and 36th floors.
