Veriu Broadway (Opened: July 2017)

Once upon a time an old federation warehouse sat quietly on Mountain Street, the old warehouse is now Veriu’s newest hotel. Located in one of Sydney’s most connected neighborhoods, Veriu Broadway is close to some of the city’s best bars, cafes, restaurants and with easy access to the CBD, Central Station, Central Park, Fish Markets, International Convention Centre, Darling Square and Chinatown shopping precinct.

Featuring free Wi-Fi and Netflix, Veriu Broadway offers modern, self-contained accommodation in Sydney. There are 64 spacious apartments as well as a 24-hour reception at the property. Some units also have a kitchen, fitted with a dishwasher and oven.

Travelodge Hotel Sydney Airport (Opened: September 2017)

Travelodge Hotels manages 209-room Travelodge Hotel Sydney Airport with all-day dining and a late night bar, as well as an 800-bay car park. The hotel offers comfort and convenience at Australia’s busiest airport. The hotel is located on O’Riordan Street and King Street in Mascot, only 500 metres from the terminal entrance.

Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour (Opened: October 2017)

Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour, Sydney’s first new-build luxury hotel to open in 15 years has opened its doors in October 2017. In Darling Harbour’s tallest building, the Sofitel has a contemporary French design with 590 rooms, including 34 suites. There are three bars, including the upper-level Champagne Bar that offers breathtaking harbour views. Signature restaurant Atelier is also on the site, along with nine meeting spaces and an infinity pool.

Veriu Central Sydney (Opened: November 2017)

Sydney-based hotel group Veriu Hotels & Suites opened Veriu Central Sydney, which is a $15 million conversion of the heritage listed ‘Wentworth House’. The new 112-room hotel is 600 meters from Central Railway Station and 5 minutes’ walk from China Town. Veriu Central is 5 minutes’ walk from Hyde Park and shopping and dining on Oxford Street. Sydney Opera House is a 10-minute drive away and Sydney Airport is a 20-minute drive away.

West Hotel Sydney, Curio Collection (Opened: December 2017)

Located in Sydney’s central business district and next to the new waterfront leisure and commercial Barangaroo precinct, West Hotel Sydney, Curio Collection by Hilton is the first hotel of the brand in Australia. The 182-room new-build hotel will be managed by Hilton, under a management agreement with M&L Hospitality.

A strong botanical theme runs throughout the hotel, most evident in the beautiful open-air garden atrium and white waratah motif in the lobby. The property features 182 stylish guest rooms, including four spacious suites. Each room is equipped with Bluetooth-enabled audio visual technology and an open work area, with suites offering a separate sleek living area. The hotel also features a fully equipped gym and a private meeting/dining room. Contributing to the lively Sydney dining scene is the on-property restaurant Solander Dining and Bar. Named after the first fleet botanist who arrived in Australia from England and helped discover several plant types, Daniel Solander, the restaurant and bar offer a modern Australian all-day dining experience with a focus on seasonal and botanical produce.

Felix Hotel

Felix Hotel by 8Hotels (Opened: February 2018)

Felix by 8Hotels Sydney Airport that opened its doors in February 2018 is a new-built hotel just a short stroll from the Sydney Airport’s domestic terminals and a few minutes from the international terminal. The lobby, which is located on the penthouse level of the 150-room building offering views of sparkling Sydney and planes swooping onto the runways beneath you. The travelling theme through Felix starts with optional self-check-in kiosks, and runs through the comfortable, connected sky lounge purpose designed for the digital nomad. Close that venture capital deal or collaborate on the next hot tech startup possibly with some help from our cocktail bar staff.

You’ll also find a fantastic 24-hour Food Shop, where you can select from a range of locally sourced gourmet dine and drink options, and charge the lot to your room with a swipe of your key. When the work is done, why not check out the terrace, where you’ll find Sydney’s only hotel rooftop cinema.

The William Inglis MGallery by Sofitel (Opened: March 2018)

AccorHotels opened a new-build luxury boutique hotel under the MGallery by Sofitel brand; The William Inglis Hotel, MGallery by Sofitel. The hotel is located adjacent to the Warwick Farm racecourse, in south-western Sydney. The eight-level, equine-themed hotel is owned by thoroughbred horse sales company William Inglis & Son.

The hotel has 144 elegantly appointed rooms including 22 suites and a number of family rooms across eight floors. Celebrating Inglis’ racing and thoroughbred history, each hotel room has a personalized name and theme, based on one of the many champion racehorses sold through its sales rings. The hotel has a paddock to plate-style restaurant and gardens named The Newmarket Room, a ringside bar, a lobby café, a mezzanine lounge bar, a micro-brewery and entertainment precinct. Atop the hotel, a spectacular rooftop bar and pool deck overlooks the racecourse and stable precinct, with sweeping views of the Georges River and Chipping Norton Lake. A fully-equipped gymnasium and luxurious day spa is also located on level nine of the hotel. The adjoining conference center houses a horse sales arena with capacity to cater for up to 1,000 people featuring corporate box ringside dining and access to the mezzanine bar, 1876 Lounge. Onsite car parking is also available.

 

Paramount House Hotel (Opened: April 2018)

Paramount House Hotel is located in the former headquarters of Paramount Picture Studios; alongside co-tenants Golden Age Cinema, Paramount Coffee Project, The Office Space and Paramount Recreation Club. Located in Surry Hills, Paramount House Hotel has 29 rooms.

Paramount House Hotel is the first offering from Mark Dundon, Russell Beard and Ping Jin Ng — the team behind Sydney café favourites Reuben Hills and Bondi Hall.

The Collectionist Hotel (Opened: May 2018)

Located in Sydney’s Camperdown, The Collectionist Hotel is located 10 minutes’ drive from the Sydney city center and Albert Palais Events. The Collectionist commissioned the talents of seven designers from four leading design studios, and 13 artists, to create 39 individually designed rooms and lobby space. Guests are free to explore available rooms once they arrive and to choose the one they like best.

Four Points By Sheraton Sydney, Central Park (Opened: August 2018)

Sydney’s burgeoning Central Park Precinct welcomes the new Four Points by Sheraton Sydney, Central Park. Strategically located in Chippendale, the hotel sits in the heart of Sydney’s creative scene and playground of local haunts from artisan cafes and galleries to hidden bars.

The downtown Sydney hotel consists of 297 stylishly appointed guestrooms, including two luxury suites; an al fresco bar; modern restaurant; over 553 square meters of function space, consisting of flexible rooms and an elevated outdoor terrace; a fitness center; and convenient parking facilities.

SKYE Suites Sydney (Opened: September 2018)

Australia’s leading property developer Crown Group has opened the first exquisite service-oriented apartment hotel set up by SKYE Hotels Suites in Sydney CBD.  The suite hotel is located at No. 300, Kent Street, Sydney. The suite hotel of SKYE Suites Sydney, located at Arc by Crown Group, has 73 sets of service-oriented apartments, including three housing types; single suites, a single-bedroom suite and a double-bedroom suite.

Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park (Opened: October 2018)

Sydney’s iconic five-star, Sheraton on the Park has revealed that it will now be known as Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park. After a $50-million renovation by owners Sunshine Insurance, the hotel has reopened with its 558 guest rooms, including 48 suites, 18 flexible function rooms, a rooftop health club, indoor heated pool and spa with sweeping city views.

The Fullerton Hotel Sydney (Opening: October 2019)

The Fullerton Hotels and Resorts announced that the hotel located at 1 Martin Place, currently The Westin Sydney, will be re-branded The Fullerton Hotel Sydney. The Fullerton Hotel Sydney, when open in October 2019, will mark the company’s first international expansion. The Fullerton Hotel Sydney will be located within the historic Sydney GPO Building, which was completed in 1891.

Sydney-based hotel group Veriu Hotels & Suites is set to open a 144-room hotel at 18 O’Riordan Street, Alexandria, within the $13 billion, 278-hectare Green Square Urban Regeneration Area and is strategically located approximately 120 meters from the Green Square Train Station.

Veriu Green Square (Opening: Late 2019)

The $45 million Veriu Green Square hotel with 144 rooms is expected to open late 2019. The hotel is located at 18 O’Riordan Street, Alexandria, within the $13 billion, 278-hectare Green Square Urban Regeneration Area. It is 120 meters from the Green Square Train Station which is on the same line as the Sydney Airport domestic and international terminals. The Sydney Airport Domestic and International Terminals are two and three stops respectively to the south; Central Station is one stop to the north and the CBD is just 5 kilometers away.

W Sydney (Opening: 2020)

Marriott’s W Hotels brand will re-enter the Sydney market, with a new 593-room property close to Sydney’s Darling Harbour. The new-build hotel will be part of ‘The Ribbon’, an electrifying development designed by the award-winning architect HASSEL that will transform Sydney’s skyline on Darling Harbour. The new W Sydney is scheduled to open in 2020, and will feature will feature 593 stylish guestrooms, suites and serviced apartments. Guests can spend lazy days or wild nights at the WET DECK and the brand’s signature pool and Wet Deck with views of Darling Harbour, as well as a restaurant, two bars, a spa, gym, and 925 sqm of events space including a grand ballroom.

The Ritz-Carlton (Opening: Early 2020)

A joint venture between The Star, Hong Kong-based Chow Tai Fook and Far East Consortium will bring the Ritz-Carlton brand back to Sydney. The new 61-storey 220-room hotel will be located at The Star Sydney complex, which will also house about 200 residences.  Features for The Ritz-Carlton hotel include a Sky Lobby, complete with a publicly-accessible signature restaurant with stunning harbour views, and a rooftop terrace.

The Porter House Hotel, MGallery by Sofitel (Opening: Late 2020)

AccorHotels will open a new-build luxury boutique MGallery by Sofitel hotel in Sydney CBD. The new-build $120-million luxury hotel will be located on the corner block of 110-118 Bathurst and 203 Castlereagh Streets as part of a $380-million mixed-use development. The project will comprise a new-build 36-storey tower with a 121-room hotel housed over Levels 1-9 with 131 residential apartments above on Levels 10-34. The Porter House Hotel, MGallery by Sofitel is expected to open late 2020.
