The Riviera Maya is a region to the south of Cancun that starts at Puerto Morelos and ends at the Sian Ka’an Biosphere. One of the most popular travel destinations, Riviera Maya is in the Quintana Roo state of Mexico.
Quintana Roo, the Mexican state on the Caribbean side of the Yucatán Peninsula, has become one of the most popular destinations in Mexico for travelers from all over the world. It is the home of the city of Cancún, the islands of Cozumel and Isla Mujeres, and the towns of Bacalar, Playa del Carmen, and Akumal.
The ancient Maya ruins of Chacchoben, Cobá, Kohunlich, Muyil, Tulum, Xel-Há, and Xcaret are also here.

Chablé Maroma, Riviera Maya
Opened: September 2018
Chablé Maroma is a five-star beach resort, nestled between a tropical jungle and mangroves and the sparkling Caribbean. Right in front of the hotel is the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the second-largest coral reef in the world. The resort features 70 suites, each with its own private pool and outdoor terrace, as well as more than 650 feet of private beach. Chablé Maroma has a massive 17,000-square-foot spa and also features a yoga pavilion, fitness center, and beachside pool with private cabanas sprinkled along the shore. Other amenities include paddle boarding, kayaking, cultural adventures, and jungle tours.
Palmaïa Riviera Maya
Opened: May 2019
Located in Playacar, the Palmaïa Riviera Maya resort will be the new benchmark for sustainable luxury. The property has a 700-meter-long beach. It also has several restaurants and a jungle spa.
Palmaïa Riviera Maya welcomes both adults and children and is made up of 314 ocean front rooms split between seven buildings. Each room has a balcony or terrace, TV, mini bar, bathtub, coffee maker and more. In addition, all the rooms include services such as 24-hour room service, Wi-Fi and nightly turndown service.
Sunscape Akumal Beach Resort & Spa
Opening: October 2019
Akumal is a coastal resort on Mexico’s Riviera Maya. The new Sunscape Akumal Beach Resort & Spa by AMResorts will open its doors near the Archaeological Zones of Tulum and Cobá. With the Unlimited-Fun® concept, its 360 rooms and suites offer luxurious amenities. The hotel has four swimming pools, eight restaurant options and eight bars.
KASA Hotel Riviera Maya

La Casa de la Playa, Riviera Maya

Grupo Xcaret’s second all-inclusive property will be inaugurated on December 2020 in the heart of the Mayan jungle. The five-star resort will be located halfway between Cancun and Tulum and will be for adults only.
The resort will have 63 spacious, luxurious and sophisticated suites each offering unique views of nature and featuring Mexican-designed home décor and crafts. The property will feature four restaurants.
