Affinity Card

What is an Affinity Card?

An affinity card is a type of credit or debit card that is issued in partnership between a card issuer, like a bank, and an organization. These organizations can range from charities, professional associations, universities, sports teams, to companies in various sectors. The primary feature of an affinity card is that it supports the partner organization either through contributions from spending activities or via promotional and loyalty benefits tied to the organization’s services and products.

Affinity cards often bear the logo of the partner organization and may offer specific perks to cardholders that reflect the nature of the partnership. For instance, a card co-branded with a wildlife charity might contribute a portion of each transaction to wildlife conservation efforts.
