AIDA Cruises announces changes for the winter program 2015/2016

AIDA Cruises informs guests and sales partners about current itinerary changes for the winter season 2015/2016. Michael Ungerer, President AIDA Cruises said, “We deeply regret that we are not able to offer our guests the vacation they were hoping for as we had planned. All impacted guests will be informed and of course be offered alternatives and generous compensations.

AIDAstella, previously planned in the Western Mediterranean, will take over the voyages originally planned with AIDAprima from Dubai and Abu Dhabi, between November 2015 and March 2016. With ten ships AIDA offers a great variety of holiday options. Guests can choose between more than 500 voyages on over 130 routes to 194 different destinations.

Unfortunately, the voyages of AIDAprima from October 2015 can not take place as originally planned. The Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. (MHI) shipyard in Nagasaki, Japan, announced that it is not able to maintain the schedule for completing MHI-commissioned ship AIDAprima. This affects Maiden Voyage 1 from Yokohama to Dubai, the Orient voyages, as well as Maiden Voyage 2 from Dubai to Hamburg.

Michael Ungerer, President AIDA Cruises adds, “We are firmly convinced that we will be getting a first-class ship that will set new standards and exceed guest expectations with its product innovations, top-notch quality, and even more services.”

AIDAprima will take up its Metropolitan cruises from Hamburg in April, 2016, as planned. AIDAprima’s christening will also be held in Hamburg. More details will be announced soon.
