Croatia’s Katarina Line Launches New Wednesday Cruises From Split, Opatija and Dubrovnik

Award-winning small ship cruise company Katarina Line announced the launch of new one-way and round-trip Wednesday departures from Split, Opatija and Dubrovnik for 2019.

The departures include “One-Way Wonders” from Dubrovnik to Split, “Dalmatian Paradise” round-trip cruises from Split, and one-way “Adriatic Explorer” cruises from Dubrovnik to Opatija. Cruises are on Katarina Line’s Deluxe Superior or Deluxe vessels.  Deluxe Superior vessels are newly built or refurbished after 2016, with spacious sun decks, hot tubs and sun beds, as well as air-conditioned en suite cabins with all modern conveniences.  Deluxe vessels may be slightly shorter but with all the same amenities and modern conveniences.   These Wednesday cruises are also accepting bookings for 2020.

“Wednesday departures are among our best values, because travel costs are traditionally lower mid-week,” noted Daniel Hauptfeld, managing director of Katarina Line. “For example, many airlines offer lower fares to travel at this time, reducing the overall cost of the vacation.  For those who are combining their cruises with a land tour, hotel accommodations and admission fees to many attractions may be cheaper, too, making the cost of a vacation more affordable.”

One-Way Wonders

Katarina Line’s 7-night “One-Way Wonders” from Split to Dubrovnik include a tour of Split, with visits to Brač island, where guests can enjoy a swim on its famous Golden Horn beach. The itinerary also includes a stop at the island of Hvar with a tour of the town’s Renaissance cathedral.   Guests will also enjoy a visit to the Blue Cave off the island of Biševo, as well as stops at the islands of Vis, Korčula, and Mljet.  At Mljet, guests can tour the famous salt lakes in Mljet National Park, where they will take a boat ride to the St. Mary Isle to visit an ancient Benedictine monastery, an old abbey and a church dating back to the 12th Century. The cruise also stops at the picturesque village of Slano for a visit to the fortified village of Ston, which is famous for its oysters.  The cruise ends at Dubrovnik, where guests enjoy an evening dinner cruise along its Old Town city walls.

Prices include daily buffet breakfast, nine meals (lunch or dinner per itinerary), a Captain’s dinner with live entertainment, the services of a professional, English-speaking guide, admission fees per itinerary, taxes, port fees, and free wi-fi onboard.

Dalmatian Paradise

The 7-night round-trip “Dalmatian Paradise” takes guests on a gastronomic and island hopping adventure to the islands of Korčula, Mljet, Hvar, and Bol. Highlights include a stop at the Pelješac peninsula, where guests will be treated to an authentic Croatian village party. They will also enjoy a wine tasting excursion and a Captain’s dinner with live entertainment in Bol, as well as an evening cruise along the Old Town city walls of Dubrovnik.  Other highlights include a visit Mljet National Park, the oldest Mediterranean marine protected area, as well as swimming at Golden Horn beach on the island of Brač.

Prices include a deluxe cabin with en suite bathroom, welcome reception and cocktail, daily buffet breakfast, nine meals (lunch or dinner per itinerary), as well as a Captain’s dinner and evening cruise, all admission fees and ground transportation per itinerary, as well as free wi-fi onboard, all visitor taxes and port fees.
