All eyes will be on Asia in the coming years as the increase of passengers across the region is enormous; with 3.1 million guests taking cruises from Asia in 2016, a 55% increase on 2015.

Thomson Cruises, part of the TUI Group, has announced that later this month it will embark on the biggest evolution in the company’s history as it is rebranded to Marella Cruises. The move comes at the same time as Thomson changes to TUI later this month.

ship legtheningFincantieri, one of the world’s largest shipbuilding groups and number one by diversification and innovation will lengthen ultra-luxury travel innovator Silversea’s Silver Spirit. Starting in early March next year, Silver Spirit will be lengthened by inserting a prebuilt 49-foot-long midsection housing 6 Silver Suites, 26 Veranda Suites and 2 Panorama Suites. Technical upgrades will also be implemented.

Fincantieri S.p.A., Italy will to build a new ship for the luxury cruise brand Cunard. The ship will join the Cunard fleet in 2022. The new 113,000 GRT (Gross Registered Tonnage) ship will carry 3,000 guests. The new cruise ship will be the 249th ship to fly the Cunard flag since the company’s founding in 1839.

Luxury cruise line Cunard flagship ocean liner Queen Mary 2 arrives in New York after the second annual Transatlantic Fashion Week brought together some of the most glamorous names in the fashion industry. The crossing, which left Southampton on August 31, 2017, included seven days of runway shows, inspiring talks, glamorous dinners and exclusive unveilings from fashion icons and leaders.
