ONYX Hospitality Group has appointed Sukamal Mondal as General Manager of Shama Lakeview Asoke Bangkok.
Formerly known as Somerset Lake Point Bangkok operated by Ascott, the 429-unit property is situated in one of the city’s most prestigious neighbourhoods and is ideal for both long-staying expatriates and travellers visiting Bangkok for business or leisure pursuits.
An ONYX veteran with 12 years of service in China and Thailand, Sukamal was most recently General Manager at Oriental Residence Bangkok. Prior to this, Sukamal was General Manager of Shama Sukhumvit Bangkok.
“Shama Lakeview Asoke Bangkok is an ideal retreat for corporate and leisure travellers visiting the Thai capital,” says Sukamal. “Whether they’re in the city for some important business venture or here for a quick holiday getaway, our well-appointed units – from the studios to the three-bedroom suites – are perfect and suited for their modern lifestyle. Many of our rooms offer impressive lakeside views, and our facilities are designed with the utmost comfort of both the corporate and leisure travellers in mind.”
The property benefits from key Shama signatures including allocated housekeepers for residents on longer leases, and “no boundaries”, Shama’s brand-wide lifestyle programme which offers travellers an orientation “hoodtour” to familiarise them with local culture, lifestyle venues and amenities in the neighbourhood, activities which connect residents within the friendly community, and recommendations to the hidden gems of the area, so guests can make the most of their new city.
Shama is a leading and award-winning provider of premium serviced apartments across Asia, with 20 serviced apartment properties across Asia Pacific, including 12 in the development pipeline in markets such as Australia, China and Malaysia. Shama was awarded “Best Serviced Apartment Operator of Asia” for the fifth consecutive year at the AHF Asia Hotel Awards 2017.
