Crowne Plaza London – Albert Embankment opens today

Crowne Plaza London – Albert Embankment today opens as the first luxury hotel to open in the Albert Embankment area.

This is central London’s latest area of regeneration, including the new home of the US Embassy and a whirlwind of high-profile residential developments, from Battersea Power Station to Embassy Gardens.

Located on the South Bank of the River Thames, the hotel offers breath-taking views over The Thames, including the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye. Created by ADS Design and RPW Design, Crowne Plaza London – Albert Embankment offers the comforts of a quiet location, as well as the vicinity to the heart of London and her many landmarks.

The stellar team, headed by highly experienced General Manager, Fabio Gallo, who has led several prestigious openings in his career, is dedicated to warm and attentive service, with a stylish and contemporary home away from home experience, whether for business or leisure.

The hotel has appointed Pablo Peñalosa Najera, formerly at MNKY HSE, as Executive Chef at the hotel’s new American-inspired restaurant, POTUS, following a major investment to place the venue as a key London destination.

In keeping with its US Embassy neighbour, the hotel will offer an American lobby bar and restaurant, with capacity for over 80 guests. Michelin-trained, Executive Chef Pablo Peñalosa Nájera will pay homage to favourites from across the pond, all served with a contemporary flair, to create a diverse, distinctive and flavoursome menu. The POTUS opening will be followed by the launch of Mezemiso, a Lebanese Japanese fusion restaurant, located on the roof of the property with outstanding views of London.

There are 142 bedrooms, including six suites, many with stunning, unobstructed city and river views, via floor-to-ceiling windows. The colour scheme marries muted tones with bold maroon and rust hues, and a clean, comfortable design that’s perfect for down time in the bustling capital city. All the rooms and suites are equipped with all of the contemporary amenities expected in a luxury hotel, including Nespresso Machines and fully-stocked mini-bars, with a view to providing the ultimate in comfort, connectivity and flexibility.

Life doesn’t stop when business begins, so energising experiences and recharge moments will be intrinsic to guest packages. The hotel will house a state-of-the-art gym, with personal trainers on request, whilst nearby jogging tracks in the area are perfect for those who love running along London’s iconic river. There will also be a number of partnerships announced next year for IHG® Rewards Club members, set to enhance guests’ downtime and worktime.

The hotel is just two London Tube stops from Victoria station and walking distance from Waterloo Station and Westminster Tube Station, with close proximity to London landmarks including the Tate Britain and Houses of Parliament. It is equally close to Heathrow or Gatwick Airports via Victoria Station.
