The Association education stream delivered at AIBTM will kick off on June 11 (AIBTM’s official Education Day) at 9:30am with a session dedicated to helping attendees understand the North American Meeting Buyer which will take place in room W194 at McCormick Place.
The session, which will be delivered by the International Convention and Congress Association (ICCA), will feature a large panel of U.S. meeting planners and ICCA members who will share their experience of working in the North American market and will include round-table discussions which will allow meetings industry suppliers the opportunity to ask valuable questions which will help them to prepare for the business opportunities available on the show floor over the two remaining days.

A variety of topics ranging from buyer psychology and preferred ways of working to best PR and marketing channels will be covered in the round table discussions. The session will also cover useful tips on how meetings industry suppliers should promote their brads to North American Meeting Buyers.

Erica Keogan, Reed Travel Exhibitions, Education Content Manager commented, “It is really important that we deliver education and insight for our attendees which will genuinely add value to their experience. This interactive best-practice and knowledge exchange session will help meeting suppliers to really boost their ability to become more successful in what is already an extremely competitive market.”

The second part of the Association Education stream will take place at 2:00pm later that day with; ‘Going Global – Answers to North American Planners’ Toughest Questions’. This session will also assume an interactive format with round-table discussions between North American planners and international suppliers from other regions.

Martin Sirk, ICCA CEO commented, “ICCA and its members have specialist expertise in the international association congress sector and this session is dedicated to sharing this valuable insight and information. We’ll be covering where to find the most accurate information; how to set up successful partnerships; cultural do’s and don’t’s; how best to communicate your meeting needs and objectives; security and risk management; and any other burning questions and concerns that you have relating to your future international meetings programs and strategies”.
