The Africa Travel Association (ATA) will launch promotions for the 2014 International Roots Festival in The Gambia on Thursday, September 26 with a three-city Road Show including stops in New York, Philadelphia and Atlanta.

The high-level delegation, led by Honorable Fatou Mas Jobe-Njie, Minister of Tourism and Culture, includes representatives from the tourism ministry, tourism board, hotels and tour operators.

"I had the privilege of traveling to The Gambia for our 35th World Congress in 2010 and visiting James Island. It's an incredible journey with an abundance of heritage, nature and eco-tourism attractions that reveal the magic and diversity of both the country on its own and the entire West Africa region," said Edward Bergman, ATA Executive Director. "ATA is excited to partner with The Gambia to present the international festival to the travel trade and we hope that the industry comes to one of our events to learn more about the program and the country."
