nytimestravelThe New York Times Travel Show, which is the largest trade and consumer travel event in North America featuring over 500 exhibitors from around the world, is held between February 28 and March 2, 2014.

Turkey booth at the Europe pavilion at New York Times Travel Show attracted great attention from the visitors. Turkey became the world's sixth most popular tourist destination, visited by 35 million foreign tourists in 2013.

According to the Office of the Turkish Culture and Tourism Information Attache in New York City, the number of tourists visited Turkey from the US increased by 6.5 percent last year.

The New York Times Travel Show 2014, which was held at the Jacob K. Javits Center, exhibited over 500 destinations across the globe to visitors. Visitors discovered travel tips from experts, and enjoyed a celebration of cultural traditions and international flavors, and booked trips on the spot.

This year’s event is focused on Adventure Travel. An expert panel of industry professionals shared their wealth of resources with travel agents and tour operators selling Adventure including the session, “Partnering with adventure companies to introduce adventure to non-adventures”. Shannon Stowell, president of the Adventure Travel Trade Association, moderated this panel in which Dan Austin, Austin Adventures, Robin Paschall, Adventures Within Reach and Stephen Cox, International Expeditions described how to identify reputable and compatible adventure operator partners for your business. The panelists also shared insights for how to introduce adventure travel experiences to travelers who may not consider themselves to be adventurous.
