Los Cabos, Mexico is the setting for this year’s SITE Classic being held 13-16 September at the Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort. Hosted by the SITE Foundation, the invitation-only event will bring together an esteemed group of global incentive buyers and top industry suppliers for three days of education, networking and activities that showcase the destination’s natural beauty, biodiversity and wide range of amenities.

Presenting an “Update from Washington”, Jonathan Grella, Executive Vice-President of Public Affairs, US Travel Association, will provide an “inside the beltway” perspective of the state of affairs for the travel industry. He will address important industry issues such as international travel, safety and security, visa policy and infrastructure investments. He will also equip attendees with action steps to become more engaged advocates in this populist era and the emergence of power of the “authentic person.”

Sales expert, industry Hall of Famer, and President of SalesSHIFT, Jill Harrington, will provide “The Secret to Selling More in a Busy World”. She will share how to address three brutal realities of selling in today’s tech-driven, fast-paced world: “Closing the sale is no longer the challenge… opening the conversation is. Technology may be dumbing us down. Success requires us to refocus our curiosity.” Jill will close with the one essential action that assures our greater influence and ability to out-sell others.

Global business leader Don Romano, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hyundai Canada, will provide context on how business leaders view the incentive travel industry and wisdom about the effectiveness of motivation, reward, loyalty and retention. A renowned leader in innovation, marketing, company growth and record setting sales performance, Don will share insights to inspire action in today’s competitive and ever-changing, global business environment.

In addition to the keynote speakers, Tammy Broaddus and Shane Brethowr, principals of the Overflow Storytelling Lab, will facilitate an invitation-only master-class workshop, “StoryTelling to Get Ideas Adopted”. The workshop, specifically for corporate buyers, will focus on the power to influence change and how it can begin with a well-told story: “Ideas are powerful, but the best ideas don't always win. Basic story structure elements can change the conversation and accelerate early adoption.” Participants will learn why the "elevator pitch" is dead, and how to construct their own logline to get their audience to say, "Tell me more."

Initial results from the SITE Index 2018 survey will also be revealed. An annual analysis and forecast for the incentive travel industry, the research conducted in partnership with J.D. Power and IMEX Group, examines global incentive travel trends and factors that may impact future stability and growth of the market.
