Salta Argentina participated in the 7th ICCA Latin America Meeting

The Argentinean province of Salta was present at the 7th ICCA Latin America Meeting (International Congress and Convention Association) and the 12th Client Suppliers Workshop was conducted in the city of San José de Costa Rica.

For 4 days, the different international professional associations of Congress and conventions met with the destination representatives in Latin America in the setting of the 7th ICCA Latin America Meeting International Congress and Convention Association and the 12th Client Suppliers Workshop. Argentina was represented by the city of Buenos Aires and the province of Salta by Federico Bischburg, Chairman of the Salta Conventions Center and Secretary ACCCLATAM (Asoc. Centro de Convenciones del Caribe y Latinoamérica, Caribbean and Latin America Conventions Center Association).

“This meeting represented a great opportunity for Salta to establish contact with the decision-makers of the associations that program the events in the region, and show them Salta’s potential as a destination venue for their next events. The relationship with the ICCA partners throughout the continent is also important. This way we position our destination on the Latin American radar for this tourist segment”, stated Bischburg.

“The meeting tourism is a segment of the market that makes an important contribution to the communities, and is a great generator of different Jobs. This requires continuous training and updating of the professionals of the sector as an essential condition to continue with the growth and improvement of services, to place Latin America and the Caribbean on a high level of world class events”, assured Bischburg. “Salta is a pioneer, the first Argentinean province to apply quality standards for meeting tourism. To enroll in the event coordinator and organizer registry, it’s necessary to undergo a mandatory training provided by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the province. This training is not only for directors, but for the middle management of the meeting tourism”, he added.
