A total of 4,985 athletes from 36 countries gathered in Turkey’s southern city of Antalya for the 9th Runtalya Marathon on Sunday.
The marathon began with disabled athletes competing against each other.
A 16-kilometer run, followed by a 21-kilometer half marathon was launched before the start of the 42-mile marathon, where 100 of the athletes are of Turkish origin.
The top three athletes from the men and women’s category will receive the prize of one week’s holiday. The disabled athletes who participated in the contest will be rewarded with medals and trophies.
The winners will be announced on Monday, March 3, 2014.
