TAV Airports, the leading global brand of Turkey in airport operations, successfully completed the independent auditing processes and received Equal Opportunities Model (FEM) certification.

TAV Airports VP – Human Resources Hakan Öker said: “TAV believes that increased participation of women in labor force is of significant importance for development and social progress. Accordingly, we strive to provide equal opportunities for all employees in all the countries that we operate at. We offer equal opportunities during all work processes such as recruitment and selection, personal and professional development, performance evaluation, promotion processes etc. In order to increase the participation of women at every level, we have a made a commitment to increase the number of women at the board to 25 percent in the following five years. TAV is committed to the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs) and became a corporate member of Professional Women’s Network (PWN) Turkey. We are delighted to be certified by an independent audit company for our efforts to fulfill Equal Opportunities Model practices. We hope to set a motivating example to the companies that plan to carry out similar works".

Under technical assistance from the World Bank, KAGIDER has developed the Gender Equality Model for Turkey (FEM) in 2011. Following an independent evaluation process, the organizations that are awarded to Equal Opportunities certification prove and are certified that their structures, actions and employment practices are sensitive to gender equality in society and women empowerment in recruitment at the national and international arena.

Supported by Sabancı University Social Gender Equality Forum, the program has the purpose to define inequalities in various processes such as recruitment, training, career planning, development processes, etc. and put an end to the approaches based on gender discrimination at workplaces.
