Formula 1 Turkish Grand Prix Update: No Spectators will be Allowed

On 15th November, after a gap of nine years, Istanbul will host Formula 1 Turkey Grand Prix. Initially, it was announced that Intercity Istanbul Park will host up to 100,000 spectators but today Istanbul Governorship announced that the races will be held behind closed doors.

The decision was announced after Istanbul City’s Sanitation Committee approved the city’s pandemic board’s recommendation.

The 14th race of the season, Formula 1 DHL Turkish Grand Prix 2020, will take place at Intercity Istanbul Park on the 13th, 14th and 15th November.

Istanbul is one of the final four races of the 2020 F1 season.

Istanbul will be followed by a double-header at the Sakhir International Circuit in Bahrain (November 27-29 and December 4-6) before the short journey to Abu Dhabi for the now traditional season finale under twilight at the Yas Marina Circuit. The final race of the season will take place on December 13.
