Turkish Airlines' Flying Chefs

Turkish Airlines’ Flying Chefs Return to Sky

Turkish Airlines, flying to more countries than any other, and world-renown for its award-winning cuisine and hospitality, has announced the return of its unique in-flight chef service.

Starting on May 1, 2021, passengers on long-distance flights eight hours or longer can once again enjoy gourmet dishes prepared by the airline’s dedicated Flying Chefs, providing the feeling of dining at a restaurant, high above the clouds.

Demonstrating the best of Turkish hospitality, this rare dining service makes traveling with Turkish Airlines a truly special experience. The Flying Chefs, selected by the airline based on a diverse set of culinary and customer-service driven skills, are responsible for cooking and overseeing food preparation using only the highest quality and freshest ingredients. Turkish Airlines’ high-quality dishes served by the Flying Chefs have previously earned the airline many awards, including the title of the “World’s Best In-flight Catering Service” on numerous occasions.

Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee, M. Ilker Ayci commented, “Throughout the past year, we’ve had to make many adjustments to our product and service offerings to protect the health and safety of our passengers and employees. Our award-winning dining service and Flying Chefs program is a distinguishing aspect of the airline and we are happy to reintroduce this our worldwide guests to make the flight experience as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.”

In line with additional coronavirus-related measures, in 2020 based on health and safety protocols, Turkish Airlines made temporary changes to meal services on flights. In April 2021, in accordance with the health and hygiene applications, Turkish Airlines resumed full premium menus prepared with fresh ingredients, by its award-winning world-renowned catering brand,  Turkish DO & CO. Now, with the resumption of its premium onboard dining and hot meal service on all Business and Economy Class flights longer than two hours 15 minutes flight time, and Flying Chefs service for flights eight hours or longer, the global carrier continues its commitment to a premium travel experience.

In addition to serving award-winning dishes, Turkish Airlines also serves a selection of hot and cold drinks, fresh juices and ‘Fly Good, Feel Good’ wellness teas. For more information on dining onboard, please visit: www.turkishairlines.com/en-int/flights/fly-different/dining-onboard.

Turkish Airlines was awarded Diamond status by APEX Health Safety, powered by SimpliFlying, for the airline’s continued efforts in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation.

In June 2020, with the resumption of select flight services, Turkish Airlines announced new ‘Guidelines for Safe Travel,’ as well as two new in-flight services to protect the health of its guests. The airline continues to distribute “Hygiene Kits” containing a face mask, disinfectant and antiseptic tissue to guests, while “Hygiene Expert” cabin crews are appointed to flights to enforce all on-board hygiene and social distancing measures for the healthy travel of passengers.

Turkish Airlines also recently launched a new animated safety video, “TK Extra Care,” in collaboration with the global carrier’s ambassador Dr. Mehmet Oz, the producer and host of the world-renowned “The Dr. Oz Show.” Inspired by the airline’s ongoing dedication to its passengers’ well-being, the three-minute video follows Dr. Oz through the travel experience passengers should expect when flying with the global airline today, reminding passengers of the airline’s health and safety protocols necessary for a safe flying experience.
