The number of broadband internet subscribers increased by 41.7% in Türkiye between 2016 and 2021, according to official figures.
During the same period, the number of mobile broadband internet subscribers rose 35.4%, according to the country's Information Technologies and Communications Authority.
The number of mobile phone subscribers increased by 15% to 86.3 million over the same period.
The pandemic resulted in the upward trend in the demand for broadband internet.
Fixed broad internet subscribers increased by 72.7% and mobile broadband internet subscribers increased by 35.4% over six years.
With this rise, the total number of broadband internet subscribers nationwide has reached 88.2 million.
