Tesla to Operate Charging Stations in Turkiye

Türkiye’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) awarded US-based electric carmaker Tesla a license to operate a charging network in Türkiye.

Tesla is now one of 119 companies to operate charging stations and offers support to electric vehicle drivers across Türkiye.

“With charging stations to be installed at several locations, including parking lots, shopping centers, and gas stations by licenced operators, electric vehicle owners will be able to receive charging services and will be able to travel more affordably in the face of rising fuel prices,” EMRA said.

There are 3,728 commercial charging stations in Türkiye, including 3,082 slow (AC) and 646 fast (DC) charging stations.

With 40,000+ Superchargers, Tesla owns and operates the largest global, fast charging network in the world. With over 40,000 Wall Connectors at Destination Charging locations, you can relax and recharge for a few hours or overnight. To use a charger, simply plug in and charge automatically. With the Tesla app, you can view charger stall availability, monitor your charge status or get notified when you’re ready to go.

Superchargers can add up to 322 miles of range in just 15 minutes. Since charging above 80 percent is rarely necessary, stops are typically short and convenient. With a broad network of fast charging, automatic battery preconditioning and the exceptional range of every Tesla car, you’ll spend even more time on the road.

New car registrations have surged more than 90% in Türkiye since 2021.

In December 2022, 14,896 new electric vehicles were registered compared to 7,694 in December 2021, EMRA data showed.
