Alex-MaurisseauFrench national Maurisseau brings with him almost 16 years of hospitality experience, after successfully managing key positions in the UAE and throughout Belgium, Spain and Singapore.

In his new role Maurisseau will be responsible for managing the hotel’s five restaurants, along with the extensive conference and banqueting facilities as well as the food and beverage outlets at its sister property the Oceana Beach Club on Palm Jumeirah.

“The hotel has fantastic restaurants and a range of excellent meeting and banqueting rooms, not forgetting of course the resort facilities at the Oceana Beach Club. In addition to the operational requirements for Ramadan and the upcoming Eid celebrations, I will be putting the finishing touches to the exciting promotions planned for the rest of this year,” said Maurisseau.

Maurisseau started his career as a Chef de Rang at the Le Meridien Bruxelles in Belgium, where he rapidly progressed through the F&B sector later landing himself the role as food and beverage manager at the The Westin La Quinta in Marbella, Spain. In 2002, he was offered his first assignment in the Middle East as food and beverage manager at the Sands Hotel in Abu Dhabi, before stepping-up to director of food and beverage at the One to One hotel in the capital.

Commenting on Ibn Battuta Gate’s latest management appointment, Philippe Bonnot, Ibn Battuta Gate Hotel’s General Manager said, “Alex’s undoubted leadership qualities and operational experience will be a major asset, I am confident that his creative ideas and solid management experience will further enhance our food and beverage offering and drive in additional revenue.”

Maurisseau was educated in Lyon and is also a hotel management graduate from the renowned Institute of Vatel in Lyon, France.
