The Finnair Group's Senior Vice President Public Affairs and Corporate Communications Christer Haglund has been appointed to serve as the managing director of the Finnish Fair Corporation from 1 August 2011.
Haglund, 51, started work as the SVP for Communications at Finnair in 2000. Prior to that, he had worked as a journalist and held various media positions with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Finland, Sweden, and the United States.
“I will commence the work highly motivated and with great enthusiasm. The company employs many talented and committed professionals; together, we can continue to enhance the position of the Finnish Fair Corporation, while increasing its appeal”, Haglund says.
Haglund will start working in the service of the Finnish Fair Corporation on 13 April 2011.
The current managing director, Pentti Kivinen, has made a great contribution to Finnish Fair Corporation operations, with the company developing into the leading Finnish event centre under his guidance, states Keijo Suila, chairman of the Finnish Fair Corporation’s Board of Directors.
Kivinen will retire on 31 July 2011.“Christer Haglund has a creative and strategic viewpoint as well as strong expertise in international communications, marketing, and networking. These qualities are ideally suited to tackling the Finnish Fair Corporation’s future challenges”, Suila says.
