Pascal Duchauffour Area Vice President, Europe and Middle East of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company L.L.C. announced the appointment of Matthias Vogt as the General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Vienna.
Mr. Vogt brings a wealth of experience in hotel management acquired with the company in both Europe and Asia.
Originally from Germany Mr. Vogt is responsible for the overseeing the opening of the 202 room hotel, located on the Schubertring in Vienna, later this year.
Mr. Vogt’s career began in his native Germany then he worked in Switzerland and the United Kingdom, prior to joining The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company in 1999. Here he held a series of progressive executive roles in food and beverage at The Ritz-Carlton Schlosshotel, Berlin,
The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong and The Ritz-Carlton, Wolfsburg. In 2008, Mr. Vogt was promoted to Hotel Manager at The Ritz-Carlton, Wolfsburg.
Before moving to Vienna Mr. Vogt was Hotel Manager at The Ritz-Carlton, Sanya in China and has recently been a trainer in Ritz-Carlton hotel openings in Shanghai Pudong, Dubai International Financial Centre and Hong Kong.

The Ritz-Carlton, Vienna is located in a building composed of two 19th century palaces, which are listed as culturally protected properties in Austria. The hotel’s 202 rooms include 35 suites and The Ritz-Carlton Club. There will be a variety of food and beverage experiences at the hotel including a spectacular rooftop bar. A Spa and gym will be open to both local guests and hotel residents.
