Two key new senior appointments designed to boost European driven business have been announced by Dusit International.
Simon Trengove-Jones is the group’s new Regional Director of Sales, Europe while German national, Marie-Rose Vesterling takes up the position as Senior Sales Manager, Europe, Dusit International from 15 November 2012. Both positions, in which the Senior Sales Manager will report to the Regional Director of Sales, are based at the Dusit Internationa European Regional Sales Office in the UK.
Born and educated in South Africa, Simon Trengove-Jones has followed a progressive career path that has seen the 32 year-old outdoor enthusiast appointed to a string of senior positions in the hospitality industry. Prior to joining Dusit International, he was Director of Sales – Pre Opening Team for Café Royal Hotel – The Set Hotels.
A United Kingdom resident, Simon is married and graduated with a B Tech Honours Degree in Marketing from Cape Technikon, Cape Town.
Marie-Rose Vesterling is a 29 year-old married German national educated at the University of Bonn and at the Dr. Blindow Schulen, Stadthagen, Germany where she studied Hotel Management and Tourism. Her recent positions include Group Coordinator at the InterContinental/Crowne Plaza Dubai Festival City and Sales Manager at Traders Hotel Shenyang, China.
In addition to her mother tongue, Marie-Rose is fluent in English and has a good working knowledge of Arabic and Spanish.Dusit International’s Assistant Vice President - Global Sales, James Ramage, in emphasising the importance of the two appointments said that at present, Germany and the United Kingdom are the focus of the group’s sales in the European market which is second only to Asia in the numbers of inbound travellers to Thailand. “These two appointments reflect the increasing strategic importance of the European market to Dusit International at a time when the Group is seeking both to increase sales in existing key markets and to explore the newer markets that are emerging in Europe,” he said.
