Michael-SchlueterMichael Schlueter, armed with more than 25 years of work experience in the industry, has been General Manager for several years, leading hotels like Le Méridien Munich – Germany, Sheraton Palace Moscow – Russia, as well as holding an acting General Manager role at the Westin Grand Berlin – Germany.

Prior to his appointment in Langkawi, Michael was the General Manager of Le Méridien Istanbul Etiler which he joined in March 2011. With a great team, Michael was fully responsible for opening this 259-room flagship hotel in Europe.

The marked path of his career with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. began in 1987 at the Sheraton Frankfurt Hotel, Germany as the Front Office Shift Leader, a hotel with more than 1000 rooms. Since then, Michael progressed to hold various management assignments in Germany, Poland, Russia and most recently, Turkey. Apart from hotels, Michael also had a short stint with the Profit Improvement Engagement Team at the Starwood Divisional Headquarters in Brussels, where he participated in identifying additional revenue opportunities at various hotels in the Europe, Africa and Middle East (EAME) Division.

A Business School graduate from the University of Munich, Germany, Michael is enthusiastic in engaging and leading his team towards greater heights.

During his free time, Michael unwinds by playing a round or two of golf or sailing the azure Andaman Sea with his wife, Maria.
