ana-apps0213ANA Group’s President and CEO Shinichiro Ito has been appointed President and CEO of ANA Holdings Inc., and Chairman of All Nippon Airways Co. Ltd (‘ANA’). Senior Executive Vice President Osamu Shinobe will succeed Mr. Ito as President and CEO of ANA. Current Chairman of ANA, Yoji Ohashi will become Chairman of ANA Holdings Inc.

Mr. Ito was appointed President and CEO of ANA Group in April 2009. During his tenure, he helped move the Group back to profit in FY2010 before announcing record operating income in FY2011. During Mr. Ito’s four years as President and CEO of ANA Group, his strategic priorities as outlined in the Group’s Corporate Plan are as detailed below:

Network - significant international route expansion including starting up Haneda’s internationalization in 2010

Commercial cooperation – establishing joint ventures with United from April 2011 and with Lufthansa from October 2011

Product – introducing ‘Inspiration of Japan’ product & service brand from 2010

Fleet – Introducing the Boeing 787 Dreamliner the first in the world in 2011 as a launch customer

Business diversification – launching and investing in two low cost carriers: Peach and AirAsia Japan, both starting operation from 2011

Cost reduction – with over 100 billion yen in FY2009, 87 billion in FY2010, 30 billion in FY2011 and planning for another 100 billion by the end of FY2014

Organization - creating strategy for the company to become a holding company.

Mr. Ito won the ‘Executive Leadership Award’ at AIRLINE BUSINESS’s ‘Airline Strategy Award’ in 2012, and was at the helm when ANA was awarded the ‘Airline of the Year’ Award by Air Transport World magazine in 2013.

Mr. Shinobe began his carrier as an engineer, and has held a number of senior leadership positions at the Group across a number of divisions including Engineering and Maintenance, Corporate Planning and Marketing & Sales. He was also the project leader for the Boeing 787 Launch Project. He is currently responsible for Holding Company Preparatory Office, Public Relations, Legal & insurance and Environment. Mr. Shinobe will continue to focus on ANA’s strategic priorities.
