Maria Jagla, General Manager of Four Seasons Resort Sharm El Sheikh announced the appointment of Tamer Refaat as the new Director of Sales and Marketing at the Red Sea resort.
A respected industry veteran, Refaat brings a wealth of experience including 18 years in the hospitality field. In 1991, Tamer obtained a diploma in Hotel Services and Management from the American University of Cairo to start his career in the industry of tourism. He graduated in 1996, holdinga BA degree in Business Administration.
By 1997 he held different front office positions with several hotel chains including InterContinental, Accor and Starwood. Refaat was always eager to dig more into the field of sales and marketing, where he began his long term career in 1998 as sales coordinator with IHG, then shortly after in 1999, he joined the opening team of Conrad where he was quickly promoted to sales manager. In 2000, he joined Hyatt Hotels & Resorts Egypt regional sales manager, where he stayed for 14 years, reaching the position of regional director of sales and marketing.
Talking on his new role as Director of Sales and Marketing, Tamer says, “I am excited with this great opportunity to work with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, a company with a strong vision and long term goals in bringing its unique luxury experience to guests. Working towards strengthening growth and taking this Resort to higher levels will be my endeavour going forward.”
