Vecchiato will also be responsible for ensuring the hotel’s 2,000 daily guests continue to receive the high standards and level of culinary service that the hotel has been delivering for the past 25 years.


Vecchiato, who began his culinary career 13 years ago in Venice, Italy, has worked in kitchens of luxury and upscale hotels across the world from Dubai and China to the Philippines and India.


Trained at the Professional Institute ‘Elena Cornaro’ majoring in culinary and hotel management, Vecchiato remains as passionate about food today, as he was when he started his career 13 years ago, explaining “I’m extremely excited to have the opportunity to be a part of a brand with a legacy and reputation, such as Hilton. For me, being a chef is about delivering high quality, exciting food in a consistent manner, something I feel I will be able to achieve and look forward to doing at Hilton”. 


Commenting on his appointment, Hilton Petaling Jaya Director of Operations Rudolf Troestler said: “We are thrilled to welcome Denis Vecchiato to Petaling Jaya as our new Executive Chef. His passion and flair for cooking will add to the unique dining experience, we at Hilton, strive to offer all of our guests. His international experience and exceptional training will also add a new dimension to our culinary offering.”

  Vecchiato, who is of Italian origin, enjoys spending time with his wife, reading and swimming when he is not cooking up a culinary storm in the kitchen.
