Mr Arlando, 42, will assume his post on Thursday, 1 April 2010. He brings with him a wealth of experience in the tourism and MICE business, and the government sector, having built a career that spans 17 years in these areas. In particular, through his recent appointments as Assistant Chief Executive (Business Travel & MICE) of Singapore Tourism Board (STB), and as Executive Director of APEC Organising Committee, Ministry of Trade & Industry, he has been instrumental in strengthening Singapore's MICE business and global profile.

Prior to these roles, Mr Arlando held key appointments in STB as its Regional Director for ASEAN markets and Director of Business Travel & MICE. "The global MICE industry is a dynamic business that is poised for continued growth in the next decade of the 21st century. It presents prime opportunities for Singex to seize and secure its share of the business. My experience and industry network will provide added impetus to my role at Singex, as I work with the Group to grow Singapore Expo into a key business tourism player and position Singapore Expo for greater success in the international MICE arena, "says Mr Arlando.

He adds, "I am happy to accept this appointment. More importantly, I am honored to be handed the ownership of the vision of Singapore Expo to continue its run as the Pre-eminent Convention and Exhibition Centre in Asia."
