Renowned hospitality executive Tuncel Avcı has been named the Operations Director for the soon-to-be-opened Mövenpick Istanbul, a part of the Accor hotel group.
Having completed his education in tourism and hotel management, Avcı entered the tourism sector in 1997. From 2004 to 2017, he undertook roles such as Front Office Manager and Night Manager in notable hotels including Richmond Istanbul, Holiday Inn Istanbul City, Crowne Plaza Harbiye and Florya, Rixos Istanbul Taksim, and Radisson Blu Pera.
His significant contributions and accomplishments in the sector garnered attention, leading him to join the International Hoteliers Association in 2022, where he remains an active member.
Before the opening of The Ascott Limited's Istanbul hotel, Somerset Maslak Istanbul, in August 2017, Avcı transitioned to the role of Operations Manager. With his exceptional performance, he quickly moved up the ranks to become the Rooms Division Manager in June 2022 for the flagship of the Divan group, Divan Istanbul Elmadağ. He held that position until recently.
Effective from August 21, Tuncel Avcı will commence his role as the Operations Director at Accor's upcoming premium brand, Mövenpick Istanbul, located in Zeytinburnu. This appointment underscores his stellar trajectory in the hospitality world and sets high expectations for the new hotel's performance under his leadership.
