Mirjam van de Kamp

Mirjam van de Kamp new Director of Conventions Rotterdam Ahoy

As of this year, Mirjam van de Kamp is the new Director of Conventions at the Rotterdam Ahoy Convention Centre.

Van de Kamp has been active for the Convention Bureau of Rotterdam Partners for the past seven years. With her many years of experience in the conference world, she is a huge asset to Rotterdam Ahoy. In her new role, Van de Kamp is responsible for creating (international) brand awareness for the Convention Centre.

Mirjam van de Kamp succeeds Desiree Baltussen, who recently made the switch to ICCA. As Director of Conventions, Van de Kamp leads a team of enthusiastic sales managers. She will focus on creating more awareness and interest in the brand-new conference center for meetings, conferences, corporate events and trade fairs on a national and international level. Together with the team, she is also responsible for recognizing the needs of the clients and guaranteeing an excellent execution.

Van de Kamp said, “Despite the challenges, the Rotterdam Ahoy Convention Centre opened last year but has not yet received the attention it deserves, a kind of false start. Starting the new year, coming out of the lockdown, a new team and a wonderful product, reasons that make me look to the future with great energy. Together with the team, I am looking forward to great events that may take place in the RACC and we can’t wait to welcome the clients with open arms.”

Rotterdam Ahoy recently went through a major expansion. In addition to the Ahoy Arena and the six Exhibition & Event Halls, the new Rotterdam Ahoy Convention Center (RACC) and the music hall/auditorium RTM Stage opened at the end of 2020. The state-of-the-art conference centre offers the national and international (business) market not only the largest auditorium in the Netherlands, but also 35 break-out rooms. The auditorium is also used as a music hall for 7800 people.
