Sports Illustrated Shoots Legendary Swimsuit Issue in the Seychelles

It’s official! Desroches Island, a stunning, luxurious private island is the sexiest outer island in the Seychelles.

The magnificent island was chosen by Sports Illustrated as the location to shoot its legendary Swimsuit Issue - the most extensively read magazine worldwide!

Nina AgdalThe Swimsuit Issue was shot in August 2011 over a 15 day period. Sports Illustrated selected Desroches as the location for the notorious issue as the island provided an abundance of dramatic and eye-catching backdrops: the crystal clear azure blue sea of the Indian Ocean, pristine, dazzlingly white sandy beaches and lush green vegetation. A selection of the world’s sexiest and stunning famed models such as Anne V, Julie Henderson, Chrissy Tiegen, Alyssa Miller and rookie Nina Agdal graced the powder soft, white, palm fringed beaches of Desroches Island.

To successfully capture a fabulous selection of images, staff and management worked closely with the entire Sports Illustrated crew, ensuring that each and every request was fulfilled. “For the resort be able to provide a superior level of service, not just to the Sports Illustrated team, but to all our guests on a daily basis, requires a dedicated, hardworking and talented team. We are very fortunate to have truly excellent, passionate members of staff that all work to the same goal: to make each and every stay at the resort the most memorable for all our guests.” Commented Sarah Jensen, Marketing Manager for Desroches Island.

Desroches is an island of extreme natural beauty. It has a variety of terrains, perfect for capturing a diverse assortment of images and unlike other hotels and resorts in the Seychelles, the island has the ability to host large groups as the spacious Luxury Pool Villas and Retreats as well as the Dibwa Residences guaranteed that the entire Sports Illustrated teams’ accommodation requirements, were not only met, but exceeded. Desroches is one of the very few islands in the Seychelles that can successfully accommodate large groups within close proximity of each other, yet maintaining a superior level of privacy at the same time.

“We are thrilled to be able to participate and host such a prestigious publication such as Sports Illustrated and being part of the world-renowned Swimsuit Issue is an enormous privilege and achievement.” Continues Sarah Jensen.

The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue is available on news-stands from 14th February 2012.
