Another main attraction is the owner – renowned Hong Kong actress Carina Lau. Its association with the glamorous star is sure to attract a regular clientele of A-list celebrities and socialites.
“I’m back in restaurants with my business partners mainly because the opportunity arose of acquiring one of the most stunning venues in Hong Kong on the 18th floor of The ONE’s 23 story building,” Carina said.
As for the dining, minimalist, contemporary Japanese restaurant Kyo-Shun, specialising in the traditional, seasonal and imperial a la carte cuisine of Kyoto, exudes peace with a tranquil ambiance.
From its main dining room warmed by rich, dark timber plank flooring, an open kitchen allows guests to admire master chefs preparing the specialty cuisine of Kyoto, famed for its simmering bowls of Softened Bean-curd and Bean-curd Sheet in soup, which is flown in fresh daily from Japan; Sea bream fish rice in Clay Pot by using Kumoi Gama, the famous clay pot factory in Kyoto. All the dishes are grilled with Binchotan charcoal from Kyoto.
Classically styled with seductive rich wood surfaces reminiscent of iconic venues along Barcelona’s famed La Rambla, high-end Spanish restaurant ZURRIOLA is targeting early Michelin star recognition with accomplished chef Pedro Samper’s avant-garde menu of hot and cold tapas, “Bomba” rice, pastas, mains and desserts.
Signature dishes include Mackerel confit cooked at 62ºC for 1minute, Spanish bell pepper sauce and green leaves; Amadai fish fried with its crunchy scales, Spanish apple cider, pine nut and raisin; and Slow cooked bedside lamb loin for 36 hours with seasonal green leaves.
Premium imported produce includes an eclectic choice of artisan Spanish cheeses and an impressive list of classic Spanish vintages, paraded before guests as they enter the restaurant through a dimly lit, three-metre high wine cellar.

TAPAGRIA is a glamorous tapas and sangria bar that transforms into a late night dance lounge with DJs after 10:30pm every Friday and Saturday.
The curved wine bar wraps around an open tapas kitchen, and among quirky design elements, sculptural dining chairs and bar stools pay homage to the legendary Catalan architect Gaudi.

Carina Lau said, “The Japanese and Spanish themes were chosen because they are both very fashionable and popular and are also two of my personal favourite cuisines. I travelled with my business partners to both Kyoto and Barcelona with our chefs to learn as much as I could about them – as well as gathering ideas about authentic décor for the restaurants.”
The venture marks a return to the restaurant and bar scene by actress Carina Lau – and her first in Hong Kong, after previously operating a restaurant and several nightclubs in Shanghai and Beijing.
