In anticipation of the general election in UK, there is a research into the travel trends of various political party supporters. The research is done by GoEuro, a Berlin-based travel search website for Europe that compares and combines air, rail, bus and car rental options in one click. Here is what parties think about travel:

Conservatives, The Patriotic High Flyers

Waving the British flag, 73% of Conservative supporters will choose to stay in the UK this summer. When polled on their preferential mode of travel, Conservatives disregard their carbon footprint with over half preferring to fly to their destination over taking a train or by bus, ironic considering their call for cleaner air in the 2015 manifesto.

Labour, Sharing the EU Love

Utilising the opportunity to travel across the EU freely, over a third of Labour supporters are planning a holiday abroad this summer. However unlike the Conservatives, Labour supporters are not that fussy over travelling by air or rail, often opting for the most practical option of the two to get to their intended destination.

UKIP, Home is Where the Heart is

It is of no surprise that UKIP supporters would prefer to stay in the UK this summer. 89% of respondents said they would either be staying at or travelling across the country, exploring what Britain has to offer. In order to get about, their favourite mode of transport is the train.

Liberal Democrats, Always on the Fence

This is the most undecided group of supporters. Sitting happily on the fence, Lib Dem supporters are equally spilt in travelling abroad or staying in the UK this summer, and they are not fussed either way about their travel methods.

Green Party, Thinking About the Planet – Always

Supporters of the Green Party are the most conscious about their carbon footprint as only 15% would consider flying over catching a train or bus, with 62% stating they will not be leaving the UK this summer.

When travelling by air nearly a quarter of Conservative, Labour, UKIP and Lib Dem supporters all agree that they would support legislation banning children from travelling this summer. Green Party supporters are the most tolerant passengers when it comes to unruly children.
