Terror attack outside UK Parliament in London

london parliament attackAt least one person has died and several people were injured including a police officer outside UK Parliament today. Met commander BJ Harrington said that the incident is being treated as a terrorist attack.

There are reports that the vehicle which struck people on the bridge then careered into Parliament Square where it crashed into railings.

An unconfirmed version of events is that the intruder then entered parliament’s grounds and stabbed a police officer, before being shot.

Peer and former police officer Lord Paddick says he understands there was a suspect package attached to a vehicle outside Parliament and this is the reason the building has not been evacuated.

A spokesman for the prime minister has said that Theresa May is “safe”.
